Disclaimer

Lux Living is a satirical blog that parodies Stuyvesant Town's transition from middle class housing to supposed "luxury living."
 
Lux Living uses made-up names in all its posts, except in cases when public figures are being satirized. Any other use of real names is accidental and coincidental.

Lux Living should be enjoyed strictly for its entertainment value and should not be considered a news source.

Registration and Security

As part of the registration process, you will select a password and a Member ID. You also have to give Lux Living certain registration information, all of which must be accurate and updated. (a) You may not (i) select or use a Member ID of another person with the intent to impersonate that person; (ii) use a Member ID in which another person has rights without such person's authorization; or (iii) use a Member ID that Lux Living, in its sole discretion, deems offensive. Failure to comply with the foregoing shall constitute a breach of these Terms of Service, which may result in immediate termination of your account. (b) You shall be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, which you will not have to reveal to Lux Living.

You are responsible for all usage or activity on your Lux Living account, including use of the account by any third party authorized by you to use your Member ID and password. Any fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise illegal activity may be grounds for termination of your account, at Lux Living's sole discretion.

Comments

Comments or opinions expressed on Lux Living are those of their respective contributors only. The views expressed by outside contributors do not represent the views of Lux Living. Lux Living is not responsible and disclaims any and all liability for the content of comments written by outside contributors to the Lux Living blog.

With that said, be courteous. You agree that you will not threaten or verbally abuse other members, use defamatory language, or deliberately disrupt discussions with repetitive messages, meaningless messages or "spam."

Use respectful language. Like any community, the online conversation flourishes only when our members feel welcome and safe. You agree not to use language that abuses or discriminates on the basis of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual preference, age, region, disability, etc. Hate speech of any kind is grounds for immediate and permanent suspension of access to all or part of the Service.

Debate, but don't attack. In a community full of opinions and preferences, people always disagree. Lux Living encourages active discussions and welcomes heated debate but personal attacks are a direct violation of these Terms of Service and are grounds for immediate and permanent suspension of access to all or part of Lux Living.

Some quick questions we should ask ourselves before we hit submit:

Have I read the entire post and fully processed it before commenting?
Answering NO = FAIL.
      
Will this comment add something to the conversation?
Answering NO = FAIL.
      
Am I trolling?
Answering YES = FAIL.
      
Am I taking one line out of context and missing the author's intended point?
Answering YES = FAIL.
      
Am I being self-promotional?
Answering YES = FAIL.
      
Am I only commenting to get a link or traffic?
Answering YES = FAIL.
      
Am I commenting primarily for any self-serving purpose?
Answering YES = FAIL.

Privacy Policy

Lux Living is as concerned as you are about protecting online privacy. We treat your personal account/member information with the highest standard of safety, security, and confidentiality. Names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and other personal information included with reader submissions will never be shared with anyone.

E-Mail Privacy

Any/all e-mail addresses sent to Lux Living will not be used or collected for the purposes of reselling to a third party and will not be added to a bulk e-mailing list.


Reader Submissions

Lux Living welcomes our readers and "Sty-Spies" to submit photos and tips. It should be understood that any photos, correspondence, and tips may be published on the Lux Living blog. If you do not wish for Lux Living to use your submissions on the blog, cherish them in the privacy of your own home and do not submit them.
 
Not all submissions will be used. If we use a submission, it is common practice for Lux Living to give a first name credit to the submission unless the first name is unusual or has an unusual spelling, in which case the submission will be credited to a "Sty-Spy." This is done to protect the privacy of our contributors.

Names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and other personal information included with reader submissions will never be shared with anyone.
